REFLECTION

Experience: In my opinion, the biggest difference between Typography and Advanced Typography is freedom. But this would definitely be a bigger challenge for me. Because when we have more freedom to decide what to do, we need to be more assertive and more thoughtful. Besides, we also need to be more decisive due to the limited time for each task. Three words to describe me during this semester: hurried, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Not gonna lie, I felt like the beginning of this semester is quite relaxed in most of the modules and the second half was too overwhelmed since lots of due dates are squeezed together.

Observation: I've observed that this module is more on applying our creation to a certain field. It really takes time to find out the feature of that specific field. The observing will not stop while I'm doing the task and even when I'm finished. When I'm more into it, I'll learn and observe more. Besides, especially for this module, I felt like it took more time for me to do the layout than to come up with the ideas for type design.

Findings: Throughout the whole semester, even though it felt like a bit rush for everything but I still can remember everything that I've learned during this semester. I think it is because in every task we will definitely use the knowledge from the previous tasks. It keeps refreshing my memories. The memories are stronger than during the Typography class.
