Progression - Week4
24/1/22
This week is our "Data Collection Week", and we are to collect data that relate back to our research questions and also the medium that we choose for our ideas. In our proposal, we have came out with 5 preliminary ideas, but due to the limited time we decided to proceed the idea of Interactive Poster, Virtual True or False Card Game and Instagram AR Filter Quiz.

Once our ideas were selected, everyone was assigned to a work.
Shu Huan (myself) & Yi Qing - Interactive Poster
Rebecca & Yeanne Tung - Virtual True or False Card Game
Zetie & Wanda - Instagram AR Filter Quiz

Before we dive into the design for our ideas, we decided to do a survey and an interview.

-  Survey click me!
My group mate - Zetie helped us to set up a Google Forms and all of us start to came out with several questions. The questions are more about the knowledge of the Day of the Dead from the participants and the interest in our provided solutions.

Interview click me!
My group mate - Rebecca had known a Mexican-American (Erica) in her contact circle and she was willing to be our interviewee, thus, we have the chance to hear and get some feedback from a foreigner and also a native Mexican-American. Erica suggested us to do the interview through a Google Form due to the different timezone between us. Hence, we create a Google Form for her.

Mock-up Progression
Me and Yi Qing was assigned to create an Interactive Poster. I was in charge of the illustration and design part while Yi Qing was in charge of the layout and information of the poster.

To have the consistency with the other two ideas, I changed the colour of the skulls, and also took the opinion from my group mates I've changed the skulls in to half.

After I finished the illustration of the skulls and the background design, Yi Qing add on the information with suitable fonts.

FEEDBACK

General Feedback - Week 5
- 1st Attempt
  • After RQs and ROs, need a slide to explain why the survey and interview were needed.
  • Slide 6-20 are too detailed for a recorded presentation, but they will be good for the full PDF submission.
  • Slide 21-23 (too wordy), leave the details for the full PDF
  • Summarise effectively the data. There are three conclusion slides, we should state where the conclusion made from and make it clearer.
- 2nd Attempt
  • The slides are much more effective compared with the previous version.
  • Do remember to mention that the ideas (poster, game card & game filter) are the answers to the RQs.
- Feedback after submission
