Final Project: Promotional Merchandising Design
In collaboration project between the Design School and the School of Biosciences. We were required to propose 1 pop display and 4 merchandise related to the product and the packaging we did in Project 2.

After discussion, we think that since our product is a frozen product which is not suitable for this kind of standee display we only propose four merchandise with Mr. Shamsul.
The four merchandise that we propose are:
1. X-Banner (vertical banner)
2. Display Freezer
3. Lunch Box
4. Freezer Bag
In this case, we separated the work for everyone, except Yi Qing, since she is the main designer of the packaging she will need some time to finalise the packaging design. So, we separated the work as shown below:
1. X-Banner (vertical banner) - Shu Huan
2. Display Freezer - Ellyn
3. Lunch Box - Rebecca
4. Freezer Bag - Ivy
For my part, I wanted the banner looks consistent with the packaging and at the same time maintain the minimalist style. And here is my work progress.

I felt that the brand name SWEETPOBALLS sits alone in the middle of the banner, is too empty and not so interesting. To enrich the banner and break the space of the banner, I decided to use some organic shapes as the background of the brand name. Besides, I've also tried with a reversed version but the outcome doesn't seem well. At the bottom of the banner, I added the texture and feel of the product "crispy yet chewy!" since the product is crispy outside and chewy inside.

This is our first attempt with two display items and two pieces of merchandise.

After the consultation with Mr.Shamsul, he clarified with us that both the x-banner and display freezer are considered as one pop display, and we still need to come out with two more merchandise.
So, after the group discussion, we decided to do two more merchandise, which are plates and wet wipes.
Since the packaging design of Project 2 has been finalised, Yi Qing volunteered to do the plate design. Besides, since everyone has proposed one design except Ivy, she volunteered to do the wet wipes as well.

We really appreciate that our lecturer and SBS partner love our design and chose our design for their project. They have an Innofest event to present their product and we need to come out with a poster for the event, so me and Ellyn volunteered to design the poster.
So our plan was I do the idea sketch and Ellyn will convert the idea into AI and input all the information. While Ellyn was doing the poster, she sent me the process and discussed it with me.

Our group can't manage to visit the Innofest but me and Ellyn visited one day before and we found out that our partner will only have one day to present their work :(
Here are the pictures of the booth provided by our SBS partner. We were so grateful that they managed to print out the banner and the poster and present them so well at their booth.

Finally, this semester has come to an end. To be honest, this semester is really stressful for me. I felt overwhelmed at the beginning as all the modules are so heavy. But I would say this module was really fun because we were not just seat in front of our laptops and doing the design but more observing and hand-crafting work than in other modules. This module let me better understand how packaging works and how the brand chooses how to present its products. My favorite part of this module would be the collaboration work with SBS students as it makes me feel like I'm doing a project for an existing client, which is an exciting and special experience. I learned how to propose suitable yet attractive packaging designs for our client and the most important thing would be teamwork. I need to give a big thanks to my groupmates as they are really willing to help. We have good communication and we always work together. Lastly, I appreciate the guidance and constructive feedback given by Mr.Shamsul. He is always patient, friendly, and willing to help and answer our questions. This makes me dare to share my thoughts and ask the questions to him. Hope to see him in my next semester!
