Progression - Week7
 14/2/22
This week we were to do more further research on our final outcome (ideas), the reflections and finalise our project.
Since I was in charged of poster design, I decided to do some improvements of the illustration.

So, after I've created another illustration, we decided to use this for our final poster. My group mate also provided some elements from the card game for me to use as the background of the poster. I've created some background for our group to decide which one should we go for. The background of the poster is the pattern of Papel Picado and the Skulls with the flower - Marigold.

Besides, I also created a link and design the page to link our interactive poster with virtual true or false card game and quiz AR filter by Carrd.co

After that, my partner - Yi Qing took over and working on the layout. She also created a QR code to link with the Cardd that I've created.

Few days before the submission day, we faced some technical issues with one of our final outcome, the AR Instagram Game Filter. The filter have some glitch (while playing the quiz, it will not move on to the next question). Hence, we had an emergency consultation (meeting) with Ms.Jinchi to discuss about the problem.

Emergency Meeting Notes
1. Create an Infographic Layout Poster (A3 size)
- have some information of the filter design (suggestion put on the left side, but we can do our own placement)
- put all our list of questions (suggestion put on the right side, but we can do our own placement)
- take a screenshot of Wanda (to show how the filter looks like)
-the overall design needs to reflect back to our OD style and concept

2. Reflection
- put the screenshot of Wanda's trial filter and talk about the technical glitches

3. Provide link in full detailed PDF
-Disclaimer there is an issues written in fine print (small text)

4. Presentation
- so long as we answer why design important, why it relates back to our concept

Ms.Jinchi advice us to create a Infographic Poster to show case this part of our project and also let the public (audience) know that - yes, they can play the Instagram Filter game but there will be a slight glitch with the filter.

My group mate has created the infographic poster along with the information of the filter.

FEEDBACK

General Feedback - Week 7
- 1st Attempt
  • Part 1 (1.5 - 2 mins) : Recap Problem statement, RQs, RQs & finalized ideas.
  • Part 2 (1.5 - 2 mins) : Summarised data collection (of what we've collected and how that will fit into our assignment 3).
  • Part 3 (6 mins) : Present our finalised ideas and rationales (make sure to connect how and why we've finalised our ideas as such, what brought us to that direction, have we been informed from the data collected therefore our direction is clearer or have changed?).
  • Remind the audience Task 2 relates to RO1, and Task 3 relates to Ro2 after mentioning ROs and RQs.
  • Give a brief justification of why the final 3 proposed solutions.
  • The rationales of our design are mainly to explain about the design itself.
  • Create a video demo for all 3 mediums using screen record function (more practical)
  • Rationale - Interactive Poster: Maintain point 1. on the slide and the rest should explain the design itself.
  • Rationale - Virtual T/F Card Game: Maintain point 1-3, move point 4-5 to next slide, and take 3 set of cards as sample to show the audience each design.
  • Rationale - Instagram Story Filter: Save point 3 & 4, demonstrate how the filter works when demo video is running. Point 3, after "The true /False questions aim to educate the audience but in a more fu and interactive way" pause our narration and let the demo show how fun it is.
  • Present only 3 key things e have learnt in the recorded presentation, leave the rest of the group reflections in the PDF version.

REFELCTIONS

What are the 3 key things I have learnt in this module this semester?
  • Every culture has unique and mysterious meanings behind them, we can’t imitate it but we can learn from it. This module has allowed me to learn more about the culture that we are not familiar with and sometimes we will learn more about the culture that we are not so misunderstand with. Besides, one of the most important thing that I've learnt is team work. Before this module, I never know how to do a design work with a team, and I never know that we can work together and finished our work so well. I've learnt how to communicate with my peers.
What are my strengths in this module?
  • I listen to my group members attentively which creates a feeling of respect, connection and goodwill in our personal and professional relationships.

What are my weaknesses in this module?
    • I couldn’t express my thoughts well and also took time for me to understand.
How have I changed after taking this module?
    • Learned more about how to start a research and organise the information clearly that I’ve collected.
If I could improve this module, it would be...
    • To have more time to work on the project and flush out all our ideas more thoroughly as well as having guides for the presentation slides could help save time so we know what is required.
